Harps in Motion with hammers and dulcimers will perform for free on the first Tuesday in Advent, December 2, starting at 12:05 through 12:55pm. Mark your calendars for this one of St. Luke’s Church, 145 W. 5th St. Delta, non-denominational offerings of inspiring Christmas music reminding us of the reason for the season.
This year, the theme of Harps in Motion is “One Story, Many Countries,” organized and headed by Robin Freed of Montrose. Robin Freed opened the Harps and Hammers Music Studio in 2014, after a life of over 20 years traveling and working on the road as service contractors for a restaurant chain. The advantage of being in many states gave her the opportunity to attend many dulcimer and harp festivals along the way to learn from some of the best players available. She now has a student ensemble with all ages and levels of playing abilities that perform together several times a year, especially at Christmas. All the players also take private lessons in the studio, and there is always room for more. Anyone interested in trying out the hammer dulcimer, harp or keyboards is invited for a free visit, by calling or texting Robin at 970-275 8996.
