Acolytes are coordinated by AliceMarie Slaven-Emond (LPL) and serve when a priest is here to provide Liturgy and Consecration of the Eucharist. We can always use a couple of new acolytes. Church and Rectory Maintenance is currently coordinated by Boyd Emond, Thomas Banuelos, and Shari Davis. This role includes all physical apparatus and activities in maintaining the building, yard, and rectory. Healing Ministry involves any of us as we add names to the book as you come into church on Sunday. The names in the book are then read during Prayers of the People at Sunday service.
Janice Phillips eckertjanice4@gmail.com is the Convener of the Delta OSL (International Healing Order of St. Luke the Physician). This order meets on Zoom the first Monday of the month, 6pm. Zoom ID: 938 575 2232 with Passcode 81416. All are welcome to submit names or join us as we study the teachings on healing based on the New Testament. We take time to pray for each other and update an extensive prayer list. Many, many of our prayers are answered. We gladly lay hands on friends and family before and after church. Ask and you shall receive. Our LPL, AliceMarie, is trained as is Liz Wilcox, Janice Phillips, Catherine Moore, and more.
Lectorship is coordinated by Art Phillips, nn7a@aol.com. Several dedicated individuals rotate to read the lessons, psalms, and Prayers of the People at every Sunday service. Special readings during Holy Week, Christmas Eve, etc. involve willing volunteers. See Art if interested in becoming a lector.
Lay Pastoral Leader (LPL) is currently AliceMarie Slaven-Emond, licensed with the Diocese to conduct services with reserved sacraments. She is the spiritual administrator and counselor for our congrega@on, part of our Vestry, Worship Committee, Altar Guild, Parish Nurse, and Hospital Chaplain. Newcomers’ Ministry is coordinated by Janice Phillips, eckertjanice4@gmail.com, who shares a Diocesan mug containing a flower bulb, message about Episcopal beliefs, and “Come grow with us.” Donna Austin welcomes visitors and records names and contact info. More support with contact at coffee hour, follow-up phone calls, and visits are needed.
Nomina1ng Committee traditionally includes all retiring vestry members and is formed in December/January to provide possible replacements. This committee then creates ballots for members of the congregation to vote with at the Annual Meetng.
Pastoral Care Committee visits unwell parishioners, delivers meals, and sends cards for birthdays, anniversaries and healing. Eucharistic visits are made. Activities of coffee and baking for special needs congregants occurs. Many members participate in an on-line (texting) prayer ministry. Several of us meet quarterly to keep track of activities. Stewardship Committee is formed in the fall to encourage all members to pledge time, talent and tithe. The financial pledges help the Budget Committee form a relevant budget for the new year. Taizé Services – Four will be given during Lent, midweek evenings and open to the community.
United Thank Offering (UTO) – coins gathered from February to November for this program that funds some of the Episcopal Development and Relief activities. Facilitator is needed. See Senior Warden.

Blessing of the Pets – can happen on the Saturday nearest the Feast of St. Francis. One retired veterinarian, Boyd Emond, available for consult, AliceMarie for conducting a service.
Blue Christmas – grief support liturgy service during the holidays.
Book of Remembrance is kept weekly for recording prayers of congregants to be read aloud and prayed over during Sunday Service.
Car Loans and Transporta1on – Can happen for needy person.

Discretionary Fund – used by Senior Warden and Lay Pastor to provide meals, gasoline, groceries, etc. for qualifying needs of strangers and parishioners

Food Pantries serving Delta, Cedaredge, and Montrose– volunteers, giving of summer produce periodic food gifts collected.
Hospital Volunteers – always needed. Chaplaincy services are welcomed. See AliceMarie. Household assistance and Housing
Meals Delivered to senior citizens in Delta County currently has 2 members participating. See Lucy Warner. Pidge & Dick deliver weekend/vacation “Kids Aid” meals to a school in Montrose. Nursing – AliceMarie is our Parish Nurse helping navigate thew healthcare system, and serving at Abraham connection for the unhoused population in Delta.
Prison Ministry – Delta Correction Facility is served currently by Ken Brott and Boyd Emond, boyd.emond@yahoo.com Bible study and meal opportunities need new volunteers to join the “outside” team for Charis retreat twice yearly. All are invited to attend closing ceremonies following retreat.
Reading Services – to residents of the nursing homes and Hospice clients is a current ministry of St. Luke’s. See Janice Phillips if interested in joining.
Shepherds Baskets – (new 2024) gifts of food and supplies to the Peruvian shepherds who are brought down from the mountains when the snow starts. We cooperated with the Methodist Church to provide 2 baskets in 2024. More support is needed, money and/or time. See AliceMarie.
Transportation and visiting of non-parishioners.
